• Start by identifying your education and training needs.
• Certifications are a way to add to your skills and demonstrate qualifications to employers. Use the Certification Finder to find a variety of certifications.
• Licenses are a way to show employers enhanced skills and qualifications. Licenses typically apply to certain types of work and usually require more education and experience than certifications. Learn about licenses in the Licensed Occupations tool.
• Learn on-the-job in an registered apprenticeship.
• Take classes at a college or university. (1) Use the Community College Finder to locate community colleges. (2) Narrow your choices of  career colleges and technical schools. (3) Find colleges and universities at College Opportunities On-Line (COOL).
• Contact a One-Stop Career Center to learn about customized training. Find WIA approved training.
• Contact a One-Stop Career Center or local public school about adult education options.
• Consider service learning and volunteeer opportunities.
• Get international work experience by studying abroad.
• Contact local community centers for classes and learning options.
